Our lab is very small, but we have a lot of different people and a lot of different things going on. Take a look at a few of them.

2015-2018

慧日寺は徳一菩薩によって創建され、かつて壮大な伽藍を誇る大寺院でした。時代とともに衰微してしまいましたが、国の史跡に指定され、平成に入り磐梯町によって金堂・中門が復元されました。金堂内に安置する薬師如来坐像復元プロジェクトの記録です。

2012

「湛慶作雪蹊寺毘沙門天立像の制作工程に関する研究―神将形像における運慶様の継承と変容―」(2012年度博士後期課程中村志野)にともない制作したものです。

脚まわりに、割脚をスムーズに行うための工夫がみられます。

2014

Makayaji Temple is an old temple located near Lake Hamana in Shizuoka Prefecture. In the temple's storehouse, an old statue of the Nioh was kept after it was weathered and torn apart. The components were measured in 3D, assembled on CG, and even the original colors were recreated in this video.

Rikuzentakata City was severely damaged by the tsunami. We visited Mr. Naoshi Sato, a lumberjack, to learn the art of sawing.

A joint team of Tokyo University of the Arts and Tokyo University of Science was formed, specializing in sculpting techniques, art history, scientific analysis and 3D. This is a computer-generated image of the Nara-period statue of Shitsu Kongo, recreated by the members.
